The school was established in 1971. It is a recognised unaided residential & co-educational institution which instructs in English Medium. It is organised by B S S Educational Society. The school provides teaching facilities from LKG to XII. The syallabus followed here is the same as in other state recognised schools in Kerala.
The aim of the school is to inculcate good in pupil's qualities as this would make them patriotic, up right, honest citizens & balanced personalities. For this purpose along with academic subjects general principles on morality & good behaviour are taught.

BSS Gurukulam HSS is now one of the finest school in Kerala. We were crowned 'BEST SCHOOL' in the Kerala State Kalothsavam in the High School Section. We have continuously achieved 100% results in 10th standard results for last many years. For last four years we have attained 100% results in +2 results. BSS Gurukulam HSS is now an ISO 9001-2008 certified Smart School.
